1969 Chevelle Exhaust/ SS Exhaust System

The 1969 Chevelle had three different dual exhaust system when GM outfitted these muscle cars. The small block dual exhaust cars received 2 1/2″ head pipes and 2″ tail pipes GM accomplished this by swaging down the head pipes to 2″ The 1969 SS with the big 396 saw 2 different and possibly 3 different systems for the 1969 model year. The 396 325 horsepower cars came standard with 2 1/2″ head pipes and 2 1/4″ tail pipes. Our reproduction exhaust system kit comes with correct head pipes with all correct flats and wrinkles, correct flanges, correct size mufflers logo deleted, muffler hangers, screws, correct tail pipes with sized end to accept chrome extensions, all correct GM clamps, correct extensions and donuts for head pipes, installation instructions and diagrams. Tail pipe hangers are available and unless you are lucky enough to have originals or NOS you will not have them as Gardner is the only company that makes them. These hangers accomplished two things they hung the system and clamped down on the extensions at the same time. Ask about are concourse show package. for those of us who have to have it a little bit better than factory correct.

1968 - 1972 GM A- Body Front Hanger

These hangers are correct for 1968-1972 GM A-Body Exhaust Systems.For the longest time the only hangers available were actually for the 1964 - 1967 GM A body's. Alltough th hangers look extemely similar and will work just fine That is not good enough for Gardner. The hangers you see here are identilcle reprodutions of the unique 1968 to 1972 GM A body hangers. They have been painstakenly reproduced from our originals and come zinc plated hand built with lthe correct corded rubbers and button head rivets, zinc plated retainers and correct screws. They come standard with our 1968-1972 GM A body concours exhaust systems and are a Gardner Exclusive reproduction.

1969 Chevelle SS Tail Pipe Hangers

These hangers are a Gardner Exhaust Exclusive Reproduction. Original hangers accomplished two things, they not only hung the tail pipe, they clamped down on the chrome extensions as well. Our hangers are reproduced from original hangers come zinc plated, built with tire rubbers as original as well as our reproduction button head rivets. These hangers come with the correct built in J to hook over the top of the frame rail. As with all of our reproductions we encourage you to compare them to the original.

1964 - 1972 GM A - Body Retainer

These retainers were used on the GM A - Body Muscle cars on the muffler hangers. The attaching screw first went through this reatiner and then through the rubber. The reatainer functioned as a washer to protect the rubber on the hanger. Our retainers have been reproduced from the orginal in the picture and come zinc plated. They are a Gardner EXhaust exclusive reproduction and come standard with our concours show pkg. or can be optioned for with one of our entire systems.

1962-1972 Chevy Extensions and Donut Gaskets

These are the correct Chevy extensions and donut gaskets that were used in the head pipes of every chevy from 1957 up until 1972. They come as part of any Gardner Exhaust Chevy Kit

1969 - 1972 Chevelle SS Tips

Although these tips are not one of our own reproductions they are an excellent copy of the Original tips did not have a part number, however, NOS tips do. These reproduction tips do not have any stampings and are as close to factory as possible. They are an option with our 69 -72 SS Chevelle Systems.

GM Style Clamp

This is the correct style clamp used on the 1965-1972 Chevelles. They are available in multiple sizes and come either raw steel or zinc plated when our concours show pkg. is ordered.

1965 - 1971 Chevy Big Block Heat Riser

This is the correct Big Block Heat Riser for the 1965 - 1971 Chevy's. It is an option with any of our Chevy systems and comes with the correct gasket.

1957-1972 Chevy Stud Kit

This is the correct stud kit for the 1957-1972 Chevys. This stud kit has the correct dog point on the studs and uses the correct stove nuts as original. This kit is available with any of our Chevy systems.

Sealant

Originally a clear silicon sealant was used in all the joint to joint connections on most exhaust systems. This was referred to as "grease" in the assembly manual but it was a clear sealant like the one pictured here. After analyzing original samples off our pipes and searching incessantly we came up with a match with the sealant pictured here. This sealant comes as part of any Gardner Exhaust Kit
