1967 Chevelle / SS Exhaust System

The 1967 Chevelle had three different dual exhaust system when GM outfitted these muscle cars. The small block dual exhaust cars received 2 1/2″ head pipes and 2″ tail pipes with resonators welded on. If you opted for the L-79 you got 2 1/2″ head pipes and 2 1/4″ tail pipes GM accomplished this by welding in a small section to the front left head pipe and swaging down the right. The 1967 with the big 396 used 2 1/2″ head pipes and 2 1/4″ tail pipes. Our exhaust system kits on all applications come with the correct head pipes with wrinkles and flats and correct tail pipes with wrinkles and double angle cut. The small block non high performance cars got the full length tail pipes with resonators welded on but the L-79 and SS ‘s got 2 1/4″ tail pipes that ended behind the rear wheels .The kit will also include correct mufflers logo deleted, correct muffler hangers, clamps, screws, installation instructions, diagrams and sealant. tail pipe hangers are available as well as retainers and strap clamps for reproduction authenticity. Ask about our concourse package to bump up to corded rubber zinc plated hangers, ss clamps, ceramic coated flanges, retainers and strap clamps. Or pull out all the stops and have us hand build you button head riveted hangers.

GM A Body Front Hanger

These hangers are correct for 1964-1972 GM A-Body Exhaust Systems They come standard with any of our GM A Body reproduction exhaus systems.We offer them zinc plated built with corded rubbers to simulate the original bias tire rubbers. Step up to our crush the competition package and we will build them by hand with our original button head rivets.

1966 - 1967 Chevelle SS Tail Pipe Hangers

These tail pipe hangers were used on the 1966 Chevelle SS Short Tail Pipe Systems and all of the 1967 Chevelle SS. They have been reproduced from the original pictured here come zinc plated built with corded rubbers, buton head rivets, retainers and correct screws. They are available on one of our 1966 SS Chevelle and 1967 SS Chevelle and L - 79 Chevlelle Exhaust Systems

1964 - 1972 GM A - Body Retainer

These retainers were used on the GM A - Body Muscle cars on the muffler hangers. The attaching screw first went through this reatiner and then through the rubber. The reatainer functioned as a washer to protect the rubber on the hanger. Our retainers have been reproduced from the orginal in the picture and come zinc plated. They are a Gardner EXhaust exclusive reproduction and come standard with our concours show pkg. or can be optioned for with one of our entire systems.

2 1/4 " Strap Clamp

This strap clamp was used on many of the GM - A Body Muscle Cars. It was used to attach the tail pipes to the tail pipe hangers. Our strap clamps have been reproduced from the orginal shown here and come zinc plated with the correct sheet metal screw. They come standard with our concours show pkg. or can be optioned with one of our entire systems.

GM Style Clamp

This is the correct style clamp used on the 1965-1972 Chevelles. They are available in multiple sizes and come either raw steel or zinc plated when our concours show pkg. is ordered.

1962 -1971 Chevy Big Block Heat Riser

This is the correct Big Block Heat Riser for the 1962-1972 Chevy's. It is an option with any of our Chevy systems and comes with the correct gasket.

1962-1972 Chevy Extensions and Donut Gaskets

These are the correct Chevy extensions and donut gaskets that were used in the head pipes of every chevy from 1957 up until 1972. They come as part of any Gardner Exhaust Chevy Kit

1957-1972 Chevy Stud Kit

This is the correct stud kit for the 1957-1972 Chevys. This stud kit has the correct dog point on the studs and uses the correct stove nuts as original. This kit is available with any of our Chevy systems.

Sealant

Originally a clear silicon sealant was used in all the joint to joint connections on most exhaust systems. This was referred to as "grease" in the assembly manual but it was a clear sealant like the one pictured here. After analyzing original samples off our pipes and searching incessantly we came up with a match with the seaman pictured here. This sealant comes as part of any Gardner Exhaust Kit
